Letter Home August 4th

Another Amazing week here in the Christian Capitol of the world!!
Also now the #1 most wanted place to live in, in the United States
for the 2 time in a row, according the realestate world!  Hickory NC,
is a beautiful area, i completly agree! But anyways things have been
going a lot better, we have been working really close with members lately,
it really is the only way you can find success in this area!  Because
without that member support, nothing works to well!  We have been working
with Berness for awhile, she just won't come to church!  Its crazy, this
week we gave her a church tour, we have had over 3-4 members invite her,
a member mowed her lawn!  But no church attendance, so were afraid we
just gotta drop her, sadly, there is just no progression! This week we
also worked with Mr. MckAlister, man this guy is so nice, he really wants
to know if the Restored Gospel is true, we have asked him to pray 2 now,
but he's still kind of waiting for his answer.  This coming week we are
planning on teaching the Plan of Salvation, and it should be really good,
were very excited, he met the bishop and he is in love with the guy.
And we found out that another member knows Joe too, so were going to
take that member this week, it should be good! Tommy is having no progess
really, he just has really serious issues with the word of wisdom, so
we are going to give him the boot just like Berness, sadly! He also
didn't come to church! David the brother of Alma the member, really
nice and active, he is going to be coming to church this coming week,
we met with them last week and talked it was good!  David is the son
of Juan, Juan we taught for awhile, he just won't convert yet so we are
planning on just teaching the kids so we are very excited to start
teaching David, a lot of potential! We met with a lady this week her
name is Darlene, she told us that she has been taught by other missionaries
before and she knows that the church is true and she has bad health problems
thats why she hasn't come to church for awhile!  She said that she just
watches the BYU channel on sunday, for the Sunday serivces on there, we
thought that was way cool.  She really wants to be baptized she said, but
she can't because of the #1 problem with everyone!!!  Lets guess, SMOKING,
thats right, NC isn't a huge Tabacco industry for people just out of the
state! This state is covered with it!  So sadly thats why she can't be
baptized, but we are going to work with her and see what we can do, if
theres no progress, theres no point right now, so we'll see!    So get
this, this is pretty cool, a very big blessing, so this Sunday while we
were getting ready for church, the bishop called us and told us hurry over
to the church quick there is somebody here who is asking questions, hurry.
So we hurry and got to church and we got to meet this guy.  His name is Tim,
very nice guy, he didn't really grow up a certain faith, he has always just
visited churches.  And he said this morning he just felt like he should come
here to our church.  So we got to teach him a first disscusion, he wasn't able
to stay for church but we have his address and plan on visiting him this week!
So we are pretty excited! Today we are having a dessert lesson at the Berry's
home.  We have been teaching a 20 yr old girl who went to school with the Berry
kids and is very nice, we plan on teaching the 2nd disscusion with her and it
should be really good, we are very exited!  She has very good fellowship! As
for this week, i find out if i stay or go, it is transfers, and i have a huge
feeling i'm leaving but he who knows.  Rumor has it me and Elder Taylor might be
either training or might become District leader, but hey i guess we'll see who
knows we might just become Senior Comps!  Elder Taylor came out a transfer before
me!   Well thanks for all of the support, i love ya'all
and hope you have a good week!
